A national park area
Visitor Services

Visitors are served in some areas of the park year round, while other locations are only accessible seasonally. The prime destinations in the park are listed at The Islands. Other islands are either too small or too fragile to support regular visitation. Still others are being prepared for visitors, but are not ready yet.

Generally the park is open to visitors beginning at sunrise, but hours vary on individual islands. All park properties are closed to the public after sunset, unless visitors have a valid camping permit.

Basic services, such as staff assistance and restrooms (often composting toilets), are available as indicated on the islands profiles: See The Islands.

Private boaters may drop-off and pick-up at island floats without charge. Limited short-term dockage is available at Georges Island. Fee-for-service options include island moorings at several islands and dockage at the Spectacle Island marina.

Regularly scheduled park boat transportation is provided by the park during spring, summer, and fall. The camping season starts in the spring and continues through the fall, with most opportunities in the summer. Special park tours are offered in all seasons, but most frequently in summer. Events are offered in all seasons: See Events & Programs.

For school trip information or other tours and reservations, see Reservations/Permits.
